On 26 July 2018, STT donated US$6000 to Laos following a massive dam collapse that caused unprecedented flooding in 13 neighbouring communities and affected some 16,000 people. The donation was passed on to Laos’ National Treasury - via STT's portfolio company Lao Telecommunications Company - which then decided on the optimal way to utilise the funds.
