SINGAPORE, 24 January 2019 – ST Telemedia (STT), a strategic investor focused on data centres, infrastructure technology, communications and media businesses, and Cloud Comrade, a Singapore-based cloud computing company with presence also in Indonesia and Malaysia, today announced the completion of STT’s acquisition of a majority stake in Cloud Comrade.

STT has been strengthening its digital and cloud capabilities across its portfolio to tap into growth in enterprise digital transformation. In the last few years, it has made significant investments in data centres and AI-driven, cloud-centric businesses focused on cybersecurity, big data, IT operations, customer digital experience, and managed cloud services.

A strategic and complementary fit

The investment into Cloud Comrade brings complementary capability and market reach to STT’s existing portfolio and is expected to enhance STT’s multi-cloud, managed service capabilities in Asia. With STT as a strategic investor, Cloud Comrade can leverage STT’s expertise, resources, international network and growing portfolio of infrastructure software solutions to pursue market opportunities, accelerate customer expansion and enhance customer offerings.

Established in 2014, Cloud Comrade offers a comprehensive range of cloud IT services from strategy and design, to deployment/migration and management of customers’ IT infrastructure such as 24/7 monitoring, maintenance, back-up and recovery. Focusing on public cloud, the company works with multiple hyper-scale cloud service providers to implement cloud infrastructure for both public and commercial customers across all industries. In a short span of four years since inception, Cloud Comrade has clinched various accolades including AWS’ Innovation Partner for Asean and Asia Pacific in 2017, a testimony of the company’s capabilities.
