ST Telemedia established three university scholarships for Singaporeans from disadvantaged backgrounds in 2019 to mark its 25th anniversary. The bond-free, full scholarships cover the tuition fees and living allowances for the period of study. They are:
The ST Telemedia Scholarship at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is a two-year Master in International Affairs programme. One new scholarship will be awarded every year for the next three years from 2020. Application information can be found here.
The ST Telemedia – Lee Kuan Yew Undergraduate Scholarship is offered through the Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship Fund at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. The scholarship is available across a wide range of disciplines. One new scholarship will be awarded every year for the next four years from 2020. Application information can be found here.
The Lee Kuan Yew – Thatcher Scholarship is offered through the Margaret Thatcher Scholarship Trust at Somerville College, Oxford. The scholarship is available across a wide range of disciplines. In 2022, the ST Telemedia Yearly Performance Awards were launched for commendable students excelling in Computing Science, Information Security, and Software Engineering at the Singapore Institute of Technology. The award is given to the top student from the Year 2 or 3 curriculum of each of the three programmes, and seeks to be a driving force for these promising individuals and their aspirations.
ST Telemedia launched two merit awards with the Singapore University of Technology & Design in 2022. The ST Telemedia Data Analytics Award and the ST Telemedia Business Analytics and Operations Research Award are given to the most outstanding students in the respective focus tracks, and aim to motivate promising students to endeavour toward greater achievements in their fields of study.
The award at Temasek Polytechnic was launched in 2017 to help promising final-year Singaporean students who require financial help. The award covers tuition fees and a one-time allowance. Award recipients will also gain practical experience through internship opportunities with us and/or our portfolio companies. As of 2023, 37 final-year students have benefited from this programme.
From 2004 to 2014, ST Telemedia, in partnership with Singapore Polytechnic, awarded bursaries to needy students studying Business Administration, Information Technology, and Infocomm Technology. Bursaries were given out yearly for 10 years. We also issued special merit awards to outstanding students. From 2001 to 2004, this scholarship was offered to students fulfilling their three-year full-time diploma course in Information Communication Technology.
The Singapore Technologies Telemedia Scholarship was offered to students studying Information Communication Technology Studies in Singapore Polytechnic from 2001 to 2004. Recipients of the scholarship were students fulfilling their three-year full-time course in Diploma in Information Communication Technology.
